The long awaited real post...

Have you ever been to Nickelodeon Universe with your kids? It's awesome. New Year's Eve day we took Eleanora for the day, and she had an absolute blast! (so did we!). We had lunch at the food court and played at Lego Land, too.

Before the ride,

During the ride,

Ice cream,

We really need to plan a day to do this again, it was great.

We have a little princess in our house all the time, she loves dressing up,

Lots of dance classes. We switched days of class recently and the class is much smaller/less crazy and it's been a good change.

With her BFF,

dress up at Lily's,

She and her BFF went to see Elmo Live! Lily's mama Mary got us sweet tickets (6 rows back on the floor I think? Or was it 4 rows?)

A not zoomed in pic, that's how close we were! The girls got to dance with characters when they came down to dance in the aisles.

A dinner I actually thought to bring my camera to! Dinner for Chris and Amy's birthdays.

Auntie Amy,

Smiles with Carsten,

I love this one,

Baby Jack has been by, which makes my little mommy Eleanora very happy,

Nora has gotten a little too good with daddy's ipod touch, she can navigate to play games, watch her videos, take pictures and even request face time!

And some from Tuesday on our way to dance class,

Lots of changes around here lately. Eleanora gave her paci's (or papi's as she called them) to the Paci Fairy a few weeks ago. She and I decorated a shoe box to put her paci's in and put the box outside the apartment door before bed. When she woke up, the Paci Fairy had left all sorts of loot! Mostly Tangled toys - a Rapunzel barbie, Tangled flip flops, Tangled figurine set, book - yes that's a lot but we had to make it worth it! She had a deep, deep love for her paci's. If it was up to her she would have had one in her mouth all day everyday. We had cut them down to bedtime and longish car rides only, but still it was time to say goodbye. It's been really great to be paci-free! She asked a few times for them after the Paci Fairy took them to bring to other babies that need them, but after we tell her they are gone she just sort of shrugs and moves on. It only took 2.5 years!

The first night without paci's is the night she decided she now needs a nightlight. It was strange, because she's slept in the dark for 2.5 years, and that night she said it was too dark. So Bryce had to put a lamp in there while she fell asleep and then sneak in and turn it off. The next day we took her to pick out a nightlight at Target and she's a happy camper again.

The other big change is last week we took down her crib and set up her big girl bed. Last Tuesday when she went to bed she threw a fit about wanting to go to sleep in a big girl bed. It was 8pm so we calmed her down and she fell asleep in her crib. Her big girl bed has been in storage down the hall so she's seen that it's here. The next day I asked if she'd sleep in her crib that night, she informed me no way, I need a big girl bed. So we washed her new bedding, took down the crib for storage, assembled the bed rail and prayed! I was dreading this transition. But to our surprise and delight, she stays in bed all night. She's so excited about her bed she runs and dives in at night, loves being tucked in and sort of talks to herself and reads to herself (this started when the paci went away) and then falls asleep and STAYS there all night. In fact she's sleeping better than before, 8pm-8am lately. This morning it was 9! She gets up and comes and knocks on the door when she's awake. It's really cute. She looks so tiny in a Twin bed!

I will admit I cried taking down her crib. She's slept in it for 2.5 years and I remember so vividly putting newborn Eleanora down all swaddled in the middle of the crib and she looked so so tiny in the crib. So the last of her babyhood is gone. It was bittersweet for me. I'm so happy she loves her big girl bed, and we've kicked the paci habit, but she's a real big girl now.

We are already enjoying the slightly warmer weather and looking forward to the park melting so we can go run around. Twins season is starting up and our summer is about to get crazy...
